When you share your story
It stays with me.
I’m the only person who reads what you send through the Share Your Story form. I don’t share it, sell it, or pass it to anyone.
Nothing is published without your permission.
Your story won’t be read, quoted, described, or referenced on the show, on social media, in the newsletter, or anywhere else unless you’ve given me clear permission in writing first. Even then, you decide how much is shared and whether your name is used.
Your story is still yours.
Sending it to me doesn’t give me any rights to it. You keep full ownership of what you write.
What I collect, and why.
Your name, your email, what you write, your answer about a conversation on the show, and where you’re based if you choose to share it. I use this only to read your story and, if you’ve said yes, to get in touch. You won’t be added to a newsletter or mailing list unless you ask to be.
How it’s stored.
Submissions are handled by Netlify, the service that hosts this site, and delivered to my private inbox. I take reasonable care with them, but no online system is perfectly secure, so share what you’re comfortable sharing.
You can change your mind.
Email me at scott@caravanofsouls.com any time and I’ll delete your story. No explanation needed.
A note about other people.
Most stories involve someone else. Please consider leaving out names or identifying details of people who haven’t agreed to be part of yours.
Who can submit.
You need to be 18 or older to share your story here.
If we talk about being on the show
Saying yes isn’t a commitment.
Either of us can decide not to move forward at any point before we record, for any reason.
Nothing is recorded without your consent.
Every episode is recorded in person, on camera. Before we record, we’ll talk through what you’re comfortable sharing, and I’ll ask you to sign a short guest release that explains exactly how the recording will be used.
About the show
Personal stories, not professional advice.
The Caravan of Souls shares personal experiences, reflections, and conversations. Nothing on the show, this website, or its channels is medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice, and none of it replaces professional help. For your own situation, please talk with a qualified professional.
This isn’t a crisis service.
I’m not a therapist, and this form isn’t monitored in real time. If you’re in danger or in crisis, please contact local emergency services or a crisis line where you are.
Guests speak for themselves.
Views shared by guests are their own and don’t necessarily reflect mine or the show’s. Stories reflect each person’s own memories and perspective.
Links and mentions.
When the show mentions books, places, products, or other websites, it’s for context. I’m not responsible for content on other sites. If a link is ever paid or an affiliate link, I’ll say so.
